Each “CAFERACE” kit is a unique, handmade piece, produced in a limited and numbered series from zero/29, sold exclusively by Ancillotti Motorcycles.
All modifications are crafted manually and may feature slight imperfections due to the hand-crafted production process.
The graphic concepts are developed by the Ancillotti Style Office, with the consultation of the brand’s historical founder, Alberto Ancillotti, who has personally signed each transformation kit.
The graphics are airbrushed by hand in Florence by Mau Design, a specialist known for designing helmet graphics for many Moto GP riders.
The production process of the “CAFERACE” kit begins with the smoothing of the side panels, dashboard, and front shield, followed by airbrushed graphics, two coats of glossy catalyzed clear paint, a final sanding, and a last coat of catalyzed paint in either matte or glossy finish, depending on the kit’s specifications.
The aluminum “CAFERACE” inscription is milled, tumbled, and brushed, while the tags are printed on sublimated aluminum.
All work is handcrafted in the Florence area through a certified supply chain.
The kit comes with a certificate of warranty and authenticity in both physical and digital format, accessible on the website
www-ancillotti.com/kit-scooter, where the frame number of the customized Ancillotti Lambretta, the kit production date, and its customization specifications are recorded.
Each “CAFERACE” kit features an aluminum plaque identifying the kit and its limited-edition number, with Alberto Ancillotti’s signature hand-stamped onto it.

The term Café Racer originated in the United Kingdom, home to legendary motorcycle brands such as Royal Enfield, Triumph, Norton, and BSA, during the late 1950s and early 1960s. It was originally coined in biker slang as a somewhat derogatory term to describe the motorcycles used by young members of the Leather Boys movement, also known as the Rockers a youth subculture that emerged in early 1960s Britain. These riders would park their bikes outside the pubs they frequented, showcasing machines that stood out for their raw, stripped down aesthetic. The most famous of these pubs was the Ace Cafe in London, originally opened in 1938 on the London North Circular (the city's northern ring road). The cafe was destroyed during the war, rebuilt in 1949, and remains open to this day. The motorcycles and scooters of this new trend were stripped of stock accessories and fitted with custom aesthetic modifications, often home-made, giving them a race ready appearance though in reality, they were mostly just for show. Actual races were rare, typically consisting of short bursts on the road, always head-to-head, covering no more than a few hundred meters. The classic route started from the Ace Cafe, looped under the brick overpass with the Ferodo sign, and ended back at the pub where the riders would celebrate with a pint of beer. In the 1970s, the term was adopted in France, almost ironically, to describe "bar racers" riders who cared more about looks than actual performance. Today, Café Racer refers to a motorcycle with a sporty, often retro-styled appearance but mechanically and structurally identical to its stock version. This inspired the creation of the "CAFERACE" kit by Ancillotti Motorcycles for the new Lambretta. Ancillotti is the first motorcycle manufacturer in the world to have built a Café Racer from a Cross and Competition model. Some of these custom builds were based on the iconic Scarab 50 c.c. and 125 c.c. models from the 1960s and '70s, as well as vintage Lambretta Innocenti scooters. The latest creation from Ancillotti Motorcycles, in 2021, was a Café Racer built on one of the four prototypes of the 125 GA Cross, Competizione model (GA standing for Gualtiero Ancillotti, the brand’s founder). This prototype was first unveiled by the historic Florentine manufacturer at the 2009 EICMA (Milan Motorcycle Show), the 67th edition of the event, featuring over 1,340 exhibitors from 31 countries. A defining characteristic of all Café Racer Elaborazioni Ancillotti Firenze builds is the use of the brand’s historic logo Ancillotti - Motorcycles - Made in Italy - Firenze in black, with the signature open winged scarab airbrushed onto a silver or brushed aluminum background. The "CAFERACE" kit for the new Lambretta draws inspiration from the Café Racer graphic customizations created in recent years by the Florentine company. It represents a perfect example of Italian design and craftsmanship deeply rooted in history. Each kit is entirely handcrafted in the Florence area with artisan expertise, produced in a limited and numbered edition zero/29.
