After all, the Ancillotti brand is one that has made history when it comes to motorcycles, engines, and bicycles.

Ancillotti, the First Historic MTB Brand
ā
Ancillotti is one of the most important Italian brands and is the first among all bicycle brands to be present in the Special Register of Historic Brands of national interest.
It is listed here with the number 29. This particular list was established on April 30, 2019, by MISE, the Ministry of Economic Development. In 2021, the Italian Association of Historic Brands (Amsi) was also founded, including major companies such as Inghirami, Conserve Italia, Antinori, Amaro Lucano 1894, Ekaf, and Benetton, among others, as founding members.
Being part of the Special Register of Historic Brands of national interest is not for everyone: membership is reserved only for companies that have demonstrated operational reality with the same business name and trademark for at least 50 years, just like Ancillotti.
Ancillotti, the first Italian historic bicycle brand, began its great adventure in 1967. In Florence, Ancillotti Meccanica was founded by Gualtiero, who continued a long tradition inherited from his father. In Florence, in 1938, his father had established the first "Specialità Moto" workshop in the historic San Frediano district.
The first notable interventions, which were revolutionary successes for the time, were made on the WLA, the famous Harley Davidson motorcycles. Thanks to Ancillotti’s ingenious and innovative insight, the rigid frame of these models was made elastic, which was a significant innovation at the end of the 1940s.
Subsequently, in the 1960s, Ancillotti's workshop also began working on contemporary scooters, including the famous Lambretta Innocenti. This marked the first step in a long journey that would lead to the production of high-performance motorcycles for Cross, Enduro, Competition, and Trial. Almost 40,000 units left the "Ancillotti Motorcycles" factory in Sambuca Val di Pesa. Among them, the Scarab model stands out as a highlight of Ancillotti’s lineup.
Ancillotti’s craftsmanship and distinctive feature were its artisanal quality, which, from the 1990s to today, has also manifested in the production of bicycles with unique and cutting-edge design.

MTB Ancillotti: All Models
ā
Ancillotti bicycles are the result of an excellent combination: a distinctly modern and innovative design with great attention to detail, found only in Italian artisanal production.
It is no coincidence that Ancillotti is the first Italian bicycle brand to be listed in the Special Register of Historic Brands of national interest established in 2019 by MISE, the Ministry of Economic Development.
Among the most well-known Ancillotti bicycle models are: the DH Scarab, Scarab Enduro, Tomaso, DHP Tomaso (Downhill), DHY, Fry, Scarab EVO 29, and the latest, already a winner in the women’s world category, the Scarab EVO 29 DH prototype.
āThe Scarab Evo 29 is a modern and updated version of a historic bicycle, the Scarab, created by the Ancillotti brand over 30 years ago. Today, the bicycle features new and interesting updates, including 29-inch wheels with a 65° head angle, in line with Ancillotti's tradition.
