ANCILLOTTI PATENTS
BREVETTI
The Ancillotti trio patented some innovative ideas during those years, some of which are still used today in modern motorcycle production. Notable innovations include the steer tube with adjustable tapered roller bearings (mid-1969), the rear swingarm with silent-block (1970), the steer tube on silent-blocks and variable trail (1973), the Pull-Shock® rear damping system (1980) with a mono shock absorber, the Pro-Dive® system (1984), and the Ancillotti 7-speed engine in 50cc and 75cc displacements (1979), which unfortunately remained a prototype because the FMI prohibited the use of engines with more than 6 speeds.

Pro Dive System, patented by Ancillotti, 1974. This system features a rear brake anchor with an opposing lever attached to the swingarm, preventing the rear end from lightening during braking and keeping the rear wheel in contact with the ground.
